Meet the Doctors
Martha H. Hagaman, MD
Dr. Martha Hagaman enjoys helping adults and children
optimize their sleep quality to optimize both physical and
emotional health through the practice of sleep medicine. Dr.
Hagaman developed an interest in sleep medicine during her
Pulmonary and Sleep fellowship at Vanderbilt University.
Following her sleep training, she became a founding partner
of Sleep Medicine Associates in Nashville. She furthered her
pediatric experience at Yale University to pursue specialized
training in Pediatric Sleep Medicine. She then worked at the
NIH in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Hagaman returned to Tennessee to serve as the
Medical Director at the Children's Sleep Institute in Nashville. She currently serves as
the lead physician of Sleep Medicine Associates in Cool Springs and Pleasant View
where she continues to specialize in the management of obstructive sleep disorders,
narcolepsy, parasomnias, insomnia, sleep apnea and other sleep related disorders in
both adults and children.
A native of Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Martha Hagaman earned a bachelor’s degree in
Medical Dietetics from The Ohio State University before becoming a Board Certified
Registered Dietitian. After serving as a Clinical Dietitian at Mt. Carmel Medical Center,
Dr. Hagaman earned her Medical Degree from The Ohio State University followed by an
internship at the Medical University of South Carolina and residency in Internal Medicine
at The Ohio State University. Dr. Hagaman taught on the Clinical Faculty of Internal
Medicine at the Department of Veterans Affairs and Med Ohio in Columbus and
served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University College of
Medicine.
Dr. Hagaman has specialized in sleep medicine for more than 20 years. She is licensed
to practice by The Ohio Medical Board and The Tennessee Medical Board and Is a
Diplomat of the American Board of Sleep Medicine. Her research interests include
narcolepsy and pediatric sleep disorders. Dr. Hagaman enjoys helping adults and
children optimize their sleep quality to optimize both physical and emotional health
through the practice of sleep medicine. Her husband is a physician with VASAP at
Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and she enjoys her three children.
Jonathan Evans, MD
Jonathon Evans, MD is Boarded in Pulmonary Disease and
Sleep Medicine by the American Academy of Sleep
Medicine AASM. Dr. Evans graduated from the University
of Texas School of Medicine at Galveston in 1988 and has
been in practice for 24 years.
Dr. Evans finished his internship at the University of Texas
Medical Branch in Galveston in 1989. He then completed his
Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston in
1989-1991. Dr. Evans finished his pulmonary training at George Washington University
in 1993. Dr. Evans Is affiliated with Tri Star Skyline Medical Center
Brian Wind, PhD
Brian M. Wind, PhD - Born and raised in Richmond, VA, Dr. Brian
Wind earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia,
and a Master of Arts in clinical psychology at Middle Tennessee
State University. He obtained a PhD in clinical psychology from
Pacific Graduate School of Psychology at Palo Alto University in
Palo Alto, California. He completed post-doctoral training in the
fields of Sleep Disorders and Behavioral Medicine, and for many
years served as the Director of Clinical Sleep Medicine at a large
Interdisciplinary sleep disorders practice with multiple locations
around Nashville, TN. He holds a board certification in
Behavioral Sleep Medicine from the American Board of Sleep Medicine and is a
contracted speaker in the neuroscience division of Merck and Company
Pharmaceuticals. Since the beginning of his career, Dr. Wind has also specialized in
the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of addictive disorders. In 2014, he became
the Chief Executive Officer of NOVOS Behavioral Health Solutions, LLC, a clinical
consulting company with an emphasis on the treatment of addiction, as well as the
three "pillars of health" - sleep, nutrition, and exercise. In this position, Dr. Wind serves
as a clinical consultant with multiple healthcare facilities and manages the development
of healthcare related software. Dr. Wind has served as co-chair of the American
Psychological Association's Advisory Committee on Colleague Assistance, with an
emphasis on furthering the national movement of professional wellness. He has co-
authored articles and book chapters in the field of behavioral medicine and personality
assessment and has received awards during his career related to excellence in clinical
research. Dr. Wind currently lives in Murfreesboro, TN with his son, and spends his
free time reading, golfing, and travelling.
Terre Grable, LPC-MHSP
Terre Grable, LPC-MHSP received her undergraduate degree
from Taylor University in Indiana and received her graduate
degree in Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University in
Nashville.
Her
clinical training includes inpatient and
outpatient treatment centers, incarceration settings including
The Criminal Justice Center in Nashville, The Guidance Center,
Lloyd C. Elam Mental Health Center at Meharry Medical
College, and Vanderbilt University.
With more than 25 years of working in the helping
profession, Terre has worked in diverse counseling settings and private practice to
help serve a variety of clients of all ages. Her services included both individual and
group counseling, in addition to supervising and training other counselors. She has co-
authored psychoeducational co-parenting classes, and her practice publications have
been
featured in The American Counseling Association Counseling Today. Terre is
licensed in the State of Tennessee as a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Mental
Health Services Provider designation.
Since joining the office of Martha Hagaman, MD at Sleep Medicine Associates, Terre
utilizes CBTI (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia) to assist patients struggling
with Insomnia and other sleep disorders. She is a member of the American
Counseling Association and The Society of Behavioral Sleep Medicine.
CBTI
is
recommended
as
the
first
line
treatment
of
insomnia.
Utilizing
this
evidence-based
approach,
Terre
enjoys
helping
patients
overcome
sleepless
nights,
impairment
to
their
daily
functioning
and
assist
them
in
regaining
lost
ground for optimal emotional and physical health.
